Hello, I’m Laura, the designer, illustrator, marketer and enthusiastic collector of ideas behind Polka Dot Teapot Studio.
I help small businesses bring their ideas together through thoughtful content, brand storytelling, email marketing and digital design. I also create beautifully designed resources for creative businesses, curious minds and lovers of everyday magic.
Polka Dot Teapot Studio is where all the different threads of my experience meet: creativity, communication, organisation, storytelling and a genuine love of turning a complicated idea into something clear, useful and lovely to look at.

Polka Dot Teapot Studio began as a place to bring together all the creative things I love: illustration, writing, design, nature, folklore and a little everyday magic.
It started with digital products and creative resources, from crystal information cards and tarot journals to brand kits and marketing planners. As the studio grew, so did the ideas, and it gradually became home to something else I care deeply about: helping small businesses communicate what makes them special.
Today, the studio has two complementary sides. The shop is filled with thoughtful digital resources designed to inspire, organise and encourage creativity.
My freelance services help small businesses shape their ideas into clear content, meaningful brand stories, engaging emails and cohesive digital designs.
Different projects, but the same thoughtful approach behind them all.

Running a small business often means becoming the marketer, writer, designer, administrator and chief decision-maker all at once.
You might know exactly what makes your business special but struggle to put it into words. You may have plenty of ideas but no time to turn them into consistent content. Or perhaps your information is scattered across documents, photographs and hastily written notes and simply needs bringing together. That is where I can help.
My services include:
-Content creation
-Brand storytelling
-Email marketing
-Design and digital support
Whether we are creating a month of social content, uncovering the story behind your brand, refreshing an email sequence or designing a new brochure, my aim is to make the process feel collaborative, manageable and genuinely useful.
No unnecessary jargon, generic marketing formulas or expectation that everything needs to be perfectly organised before we begin.

My approach combines creativity with clear thinking. I love the visual details, colour palettes, typography, imagery and the tiny finishing touches that make something feel cohesive, but I also care about how everything works.
-Can your audience understand it?
-Is the information easy to navigate?
-Does it sound like your business?
-Does it have a clear purpose?
-Will it make your life a little easier?
That balance shapes everything I create, from a single social post to a hundred-page brochure

My creative background began with a BA (Hons) in Fashion Studies, where I developed skills in visual communication, design and presenting ideas.
Since then, I have worked across education, social care, administration and marketing, experiences that taught me how to listen carefully, communicate with different audiences and make information feel more accessible.
More recently, I completed a Level 3 Multi-Channel Marketer apprenticeship with Distinction. Through both my apprenticeship and freelance work, I have gained practical experience in content creation, email campaigns, websites, analytics, digital marketing and the design of large, information-rich documents.
That combination of creativity, communication and hands-on marketing experience now sits at the heart of Polka Dot Teapot Studio.
I understand that most small businesses do not have enormous teams or bottomless marketing budgets. My services are designed to offer thoughtful, flexible support that meets you where you are.

When I am not rearranging something in Canva or disappearing down a marketing rabbit hole, you will usually find me illustrating, planning my next garden project or wandering around with Aries, my rescue dog and unofficial studio supervisor.
I am endlessly inspired by colour, changing seasons, old stories, wildflowers, curious little details and the imaginary worlds hidden inside everyday ideas.
That sense of curiosity runs throughout the studio. I believe business content can be useful without feeling dull, professional without losing its personality and thoughtfully designed without becoming inaccessible.

Whether you need an extra pair of hands for your marketing, help expressing the story behind your business or a beautifully organised design for your ideas, I would love to hear what you are working on.
You do not need a perfectly polished brief. Tell me about your business, what is currently feeling difficult and what you would like to create, and we can take it from there.
