This campaign focused on something simple but important.
Supporting a local toy appeal and encouraging people to get involved in a way that felt easy and genuine. I worked closely with Thorne Rural Lions and the team at Premier Storage.
Together, we focused on creating a campaign that felt warm and accessible. Most importantly, it needed to feel community-driven, rather than overly promotional.
-Campaign planning and development
-Collaboration with the internal team and the charity
-Visual content design
-Multi-channel delivery and monitoring
I shared the campaign across LinkedIn, Facebook, and email marketing. Content was scheduled consistently throughout November and December. As a result this helped keep the campaign visible without feeling overwhelming. A lot of care went into aligning the campaign with the season.
I used soft, festive visuals and clear messaging throughout. As a result, the campaign felt easy and inviting for people to take part.
Some of the key decisions included:
-Clear calls-to-action linking directly to the Amazon Wishlist
-Using both brand logos to build trust and show collaboration
-Spacing content out to keep momentum without oversaturating
-Including the campaign in other company email footers to keep it front of mind
-Creating personalised staff “Christmas cards” to encourage sharing
Thorne Rural Lions approved all content before it went live.
This ensured everything felt appropriate and respectful to the cause.
Overall, this project delivered strong engagement across all channels. The campaign achieved everything organically, without paid ads.
-LinkedIn engagement rates reached up to 52.9%
-Email sent to 2,600+ recipients
-45.2% open rate
-45 clicks through to campaign content
Reminder posts helped keep the campaign visible. Content was also shared beyond the existing audience through reposts and community interaction.
Most importantly, the campaign resulted in real community support. Donations came from staff, customers, and suppliers. People who contributed were thanked publicly. This helped create a sense of shared involvement and appreciation.
“You have been truly amazing. A massive thank you to your team and customers”
— Thorne Rural Lions
Overall, this campaign shows how thoughtful marketing can go beyond promotion. It can genuinely bring people together.
